Marvell and Lumentum Agree to $115B Enterprise-Value Combination
Marvell and Lumentum announced on Nov. 2 a definitive all-stock acquisition agreement. The companies put Lumentum's implied enterprise value at $115 billion, not its equity value. Shareholders and regulators must still approve the transaction; the companies expect closing in the first half of calendar 2028. Until then, their optical and electrical interconnect businesses remain separate.
GLOBAL IMAGING BRIEF
Why it matters
Analysis: The proposed combination would bring laser, transceiver and optical-switch capabilities alongside Marvell's networking and silicon-photonics portfolio. Customers should plan for possible integration only after closing and keep current sourcing commitments distinct from the proposed roadmap.
