NIL Technology Formally Launches metaEye Eye-Tracking Camera

NIL Technology announced on Oct. 28 the product launch of metaEye, a compact near-infrared camera for eye tracking in smart glasses and AR/VR devices. Its architecture combines two meta-optical elements, a bandpass filter and apertures in a solid lens cube mounted at the sensor cover glass. The company says partner firms assemble the cameras and reports customer qualification builds; this Nov. 1 brief does not treat the announcement as a same-day launch or independently verify production volumes.

GLOBAL IMAGING BRIEF

Why it matters

Analysis: A compact meta-optical stack could ease integration in near-eye hardware. OEMs should test wavelength response, off-axis image quality, thermal stability and sensor fit with their own illumination and eye-tracking pipeline.
