Precision Optics Reports $2M Follow-On Order for Satellite Optical Comms

Precision Optics said on Nov. 5 that it received a $2 million follow-on production order from an existing aerospace customer for a satellite optical-communications program. The company expects shipments to begin in December and be completed over the next two to three months. The customer is unnamed, and the announced order does not itself verify completed delivery or on-orbit performance.

GLOBAL IMAGING BRIEF

Why it matters

Analysis: A repeat order is a concrete demand signal for precision optical assemblies in space communications. Procurement teams should still distinguish order intake from revenue recognition, shipment acceptance and qualification for each mission.
