GLOBAL IMAGING BRIEF
Why it matters
Running activity detection on-camera may reduce separate processing hardware and limit data transfer, but clinical outcomes, privacy compliance and false-alarm performance must be assessed by each deployment.
i-PRO and Kepler's camera-based patient-safety application illustrates an edge-AI model in which vision algorithms run on the camera rather than separate servers. October availability remains planned.

Full perspective
The partners describe a system that recognizes events such as bed-exit attempts and possible falls and sends alerts to care teams. This is an assistive monitoring product, not a substitute for clinical assessment.
The application is intended to run directly on the camera's edge processor. Hospitals and care facilities should evaluate field coverage, alert accuracy, network security, privacy rules and nurse-call integration before purchasing. The announced October launch is prospective.
